Lifeway is refusing to carry Rachel Held Evans’ new book A Year of Biblical Womanhood in their stores, and as far as she can tell, it’s because she uses the word “vagina”, which her editor warned her might cause trouble with Christian bookstores.
Dianna E. Anderson points out that Lifeway carries Mark Driscoll’s Real Marriage, “which contains explicit references to anal and oral sex”.
Of course, vaginas aren’t involved in either of those things.
