Representative Todd Akin, who is running for Senate under the Tea Party banner, appeared on KTVI-TV in St. Louis today and claimed that it’s “really rare” for rape to result in pregnancy:
“If it’s a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down.”
Akin then went on to say that we’re definitively winning the War on Drugs, that Latinos are a privileged class in the U.S., and that George W. Bush was recently voted most popular American President ever by a stunning majority of Middle-Eastern nations.
