I’m ambivalent about this. On the one hand, 14 years seems old enough to have a job (and is, in some states). I went to work when I was 15. On the other hand, it’s probably not old enough to make informed decisions about abusing one’s body for the sake of career.
More importantly, when you promise to do something, you should do it. So good for Vogue—sort of—for apologizing and, hopefully, keeping their word from now on.
I try to only say this a couple times a week, but businesses themselves are best equipped to abolish capitalist injustice. They just need to be properly motivated, and in this case, maybe they are.
